Military & Law Enforcement Training
ASD’s ongoing efforts to bring the most practical and realistic training, reality based training, to the Austin area has helped us to achieve the highest of recommendations from our clients. Reality based training is the life blood of our instructors and we seek out the newest and most modern techniques to add to our already extensive background of skills.
Because ASD’s training is reality based, it has become extremely popular within the Military, Police and Security sectors. ASD considers reality based skills to be extremely important to survival considering the increase in violence and the gruesome methods in which people are being attacked and executed. Professionals understand that attacks scenarios can vary widely. Because of the unknowns and variences that a person might experience in an attack scenario, simply knowing defensive tactic techniques is no longer good enough. One must train utilizing these skills in scenarios to mimic the possibilities in which an attack may present itself to truly maximize the effectiveness of the techniques and uncover potential hazards.
ASD incorporates training drills & scenarios focusing on variety of attacks, angle of attacks, multiple assailants, armed & unarmed, low light situations, close quarter engagements, limited operating space, fatigue, confusion and many other aspects that would most likely be encountered. ASD even takes this training to a much higher level by recommending students to train in full uniform and/or gear. Safety precautions are taken to ensure that students only train with rubber training weapons that resemble the type of weapon they carry for the specific line of work they are in and training knives.
At this time Military, Police and Security train with civilians in regular scheduled classes. However, it is the intent of ASD to eventually offer classes to Military, Police & Security that are separate from our civilian classes. Group training is available as a seminar by request.
If you have an interest in any of these two options, please contact ASD for further information.
